Livelihood Rehabilitation Project

166 shopkeepers have been supported for the rehabilitation and restocking their shops which have increased their income in the yaer 2011. Total 49 additional workers have been hired in these rehabilitated shops.

100 women have trained in Poultry and Embroidery, received startup kits of the respective category and linked with local women market.

205 received training in Embroidery, Poultry and Dress making, they received startup kit and linked with the market to contribute in the household income, where the income from the male is not stable in the year 2012.

189 shops including 08 women shops and 20 movable shops rehabilitated and restored to the pre flood position.

In 106 specialized shops venue created for entrepreneurship for the young adults, Where 123 young adults developed entrepreneurship skill of their choice for long term and sustainable income. They received startup kit in the respective category.

436 animals Vaccinated in union council Pirsabaq on “Vaccination day”. in the year 2012.

One Room Shelter with Senitation Facilities Project

886 most vulnerable families are being provided One Room shelters with Sanitations facilities.

600 skilled/semi-skilled artisans and 1,772 support worker in One Room Shelter construction received comprehensive Disaster Risk Reduction trainings for flood and disaster resilient construction techniques.

20 communities will receive trainings to incorporate Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), to enable them to act in case of future emergencies.

5,012 individuals have received hygiene trainings to increase health standards at domestic level.






Solidar Switzerland is working in District Layyah in five union councils (Baseera, Sahoo wala, Loohanch, Jakharr, Kotla Haji Shah).
The specific purpose of the project is:

  • Safe and standard living conditions for the flood affected population through the support (Material, Labor and Technical teams) on the construction of at- least 886 One Room Shelters with sanitation facilities.
  • Increase the knowledge on better construction techniques which prevent the flood on building through training of local artisans.
  • Building Awareness in families on hygiene issues.

The following key activities are in implementation process.

a) One-Room Shelter with Sanitation Facilities

Provided One Room Shelter with sanitation facilities to the destitute and most vulnerable families.


b) Technical Trainings to the Local Artisans on DRR techniques

Provided Training to Skilled/Semi-skilled Labors on Disaster Risk Reduction techniques through master artisans.

c) Hygiene Promotion Sessions

Providied hygiene sessions in five Unions councils (Baseera, Sahoo wala, Loohanch Nasheb, Jakher, Kotla Haji Shah) to increase the health level at domestic level.
