WASH Project

700 households (total estimated 4,900 beneficiaries for WAS facilities.

1,460 skilled, semi- and unskilled artisans for DRR training.

30 most vulnerable households (total estimated 210 beneficiaries for One Room Shelter.

2,500 individuals for Hygiene Trainings.

20 village committees (VCs) for training and support in DRR.

Livelihood Rehabilitation Project- District Charsadda and Nowshera, KPK

166 shopkeepers have been supported for the rehabilitation and restocking their shops which have increased their income in the yaer 2011. Total 49 additional workers have been hired in these rehabilitated shops.

100 women have trained in Poultry and Embroidery, received startup kits of the respective category and linked with local market.

205 women received training in Embroidery, Poultry and Dress making, they received startup kit and linked with the market to contribute in the household income, where the income from the male is not stable in the year 2012.

189 shops including 8 women shops and 20 movable shops rehabilitated and restored to the pre flood position. in 106 specialzied shops venue created for entrepreneurship for the young adults, Where 123 young adults developed entrepreneurship skill of their choice for long term and sustainable income. Livelihood Phase 2

Livelihood Phase-II contains the following components:

  • 1st Component: Expansion of shop rehabilitation focused on specialized shops where the second component is built upon.
  • 2nd Component: Apprenticeship and Skills Development of young adults. The venues for this are the rehabilitates specialized shops at Phase 1 and the additional specialized shops at Phase II. These specialized shops includes:
  • a) Auto electrical shops,
  • b) Auto Mechanics/Auto Air Conditioning Shops
  • c) Bakeries and Pastries Shops
  • d) Tailoring and Dressmaking Shops
  • e) Mobile Phone Electronics and Repair Shops
  • f) Electrical/Electronic Repair Shops
  • 3rd Component: Livelihood for women including market access. This is a hand on technical vocational education training for women to provide an opportunity for them to develop economic skills and be economically independent. The approach will include skills and Crafts, Poultry, Embroidery, Backyard Food production and market acces.

Activities:

    • 205 women received training in Embroidery, Poultry and Dress making, they received startup kit and linked with the market to contribute in the household income, where the income from the male is not stable in the year 2012.
    •  189 shops including 8 women shops and 20 movable shops rehabilitated and restored to the pre flood position.

    •   436 animals Vaccinated in union council Pirsabaq on “Vaccination day”.
